The process of booking a face-to-face counselling appointment difficult for both practical and emotional reasons; many people find it easier to approach counselling from the comfort and privacy of their own home or office environment. I therefore offer online counseling services via video and instant messaging to help you overcome the obstacles of attending sessions in person. Online counselling offers a wide range of benefits including:
- The flexibility to choose your location
- Reduced travel time and commuting costs
- A feeling of safety and control in your own surroundings
- A choice of session styles – via video or text-based instant messaging
How does it work?
I use a secure platform called ‘Plus Guidance’ to conduct my online therapy sessions, you can view my profile by clicking here. The site allows us to communicate either through video using our web cameras or alternatively via an instant text-based message exchange. In a similar way as face-to-face counselling, we will arrange an appointment to be online at the same time for a dedicated hour-long appointment. I will be online from within my confidential therapy room and you will be online from anywhere you feel is comfortable and suitable (e.g. home or office).
Are you experienced in working online?
As a fully registered member of ACTO (the Association of Counselling & Therapy Online), I have undertaken dedicated training in counselling online and hold a qualifying Certificate in Online Counselling from Relate, one of the UK’s largest providers of online therapeutic support.
I have worked with a number of clients from across Europe online via video services such as Skype, providing counselling for a wide range of issues including anxiety, relationship difficulties and depression.
